Perfect Getaway. - Seneca State Forest is absolutely the perfect vacation destination if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of big city life and come to the mountains for some R & R. The staff all treat you like family and they all go above and beyond to make your experience one to remember for a lifetime. So whether you just need to get away for a few days or spend a couple weeks, Seneca State Forest is the perfect place to relax, recharge and enjoy the outdoors. Great fishing and lots to do and see in all directions.

This is no longer a park - I used to love Mont Chateau State Park, but the state of WV closed it down as a State Park and it now houses the State Geological offices among other things. Beautiful piece of land right on Cheat Lake

Concerned! - There is a post going around Facebook that the park will be closing permanently in a few months! Please tell me that is not true! We LOVE this park! We have been going here since childhood- 35 years ago!

Family vacation favorite - Best memories of our lifetime were made here. We love this area and the people around it. Have met some wonderful friends here over the years. We could never say enough about the park and employees. My grandchildren will always return long after we are gone.
6/7/2015 8:38:55 PM Tomlinson Run State Park by Old fat camper
A very nice old fashioned state park - Best part is the people. Helpful, friendly down to Earth folks. Campsites are OK---nothing more. I have always wanted to give it a try since my name is Tomlinson.
5/11/2015 3:06:40 PM Kumbrabow State Forest by Tom Whittier, Pickens,WVa.
Unique Forest to be preserved - On the high ridges of Kumbrabow are beautiful mixed stands of mature red spruce and cherry, beautiful peaceful places for hiking, bird watching or cross country skiing. The State is bringing timber cutting ever closer to these stands. Please let the State foresters know that these stands should not be cut but rather preserved so mature forests will not be only a memory. Do not be mislead by rationals that to preserve you must cut so that young replacement trees can grow.
Great motorcycle country - Been there a few times on our motorcycles. Just great riding in that area. Love the scenery and the roads. We will do it again for sure!

Love the Cabin and the Park - My son & I have stayed 3 years in a row (Spring & Fall). The cabins have been clean and very well taken care of. Beautiful park. Wonderful people at the office to sign you in & help with things.
