Funtastic Adventure - This is the best of all nature worlds! Hiking in the trees, beach access and you can walk the bluffs if you would like to. This is an amazing trail that will amaze you with eyecandy of redwoods and ocean!

One of my favorite backpacking spots! - This park is great for finding solitude, and you do not need to get permits months in advance! Here are two trip reports I wrote that describe my backpacking trips in Henry Coe. To Coit Lake - https://backpackersreview.wordpress.com/trip-reports/henry-coe-coit-lake/ To Mississippi Lake - https://backpackersreview.wordpress.com/trip-reports/henry-coe-mississippi-lake/

family favorite - on our last trip we took our dog - over 50% of the guests had dogs - however no dogs were permitted on the beach or trails - we had to load up and drive either north or south to find dog friendly hikes and beaches - we ended up leaving 2 days early

Gods Backyard - My late wife and I spent a week up in Jedediah Smith campgrounds while traveling through Northern California. What a beautiful place, the trees are just .....wow! You have to experience camping out with the trees, it is something you will never forget.

It is definitely open to the public - I go hiking there regularly. No restrictions to entry - I see families walking, people running & mountain biking.

Caverns are closed - Mitchell Caverns have been closed for four years. The SRA is being repaired and restored, but the opening date is still unclear. It was to open in February 2016, but that has now been cancelled, with no new date.

- I wanted to thank Jenna for the lovely wedding tour she gave to my son and future daughter in law this week. Jenna was friendly, professional, enthusiastic, she answered all of the questions we had and was a great representative of California State Parks. Thank you!

6/14/2015 2:59:51 PM Fort Ross State Historic Park by Julia A. Hamilton
- On a return visit to Fort Ross State Historic Park, as usual I found the staff, exhibits, etc. to be in excellent condition. Whether you are a new visitor, or, as in my case, a return visitor you receive a thorough orientation and other information. All staff were first class in their conduct and information. As a Californian, it makes me proud to think of the out of town visitors and how they must be impressed by our State and local employees serving at these sites. I am so grateful that my mother insisted that, when we were growing up, we visit all historical sites regardless of the state we were in while we were traveling.
