Best Park in Maine - Okay, so I may be a little biased, but there are amazing mountains for all ability levels, the campground is gorgeous on many many acres. The swimming is perfect. Boat rentals reasonable. Nearby is Coos Canyon to jump off cliffs into mountain stream water. And the nature center is quite good . Movie night in the ampitheatre is always a highlight as well. NOT to be missed. And my personal favorite part is renting a boat to boat across the lake to have a quick snack on the deck of the Kawanhee Inn before boating back. And the rangers are lovely.
Nice, grass lot for tent camping - We stayed here for the first time visiting in the fall and found the park to be very nice. Acadia National Park is a short distance away as is Lamoine Beach which is a nice area to walk along the shore. We would definitely choose to stay here again.
- Five stars my aunt patooty. It it holds 20 cars which are bullied and frightened by the caretakers. When you go to the park ranger station, a 20-year old kid looks at you with a grin, his green shirt pulled out, and hair literally down to his belt. The most terrifying night of my life. Sleep in your car.
So disappointed - We went to Crescent State Park in Cape Elizabeth on Sunday 8/20/17 all over the beach there was dried sea weed. The smell was so bad we left. For $8.00 a person, I think the beach could be raked. There were people from all over the US. Sad
excellant boogie boarding surf, - I have been there four times in the last month and yesterday was great. We spent almost 2 hours boogie boarding in the surf. This is by far the best state park in the system. I enjoy being in the water even on a cloudy, foggy day boogie boarding in the surf.
Our favorite place to visit! - My husband and I got married here. A beautiful summer day in August. Perfect weather with a slight calm breeze coming up from the ocean. Our daughters love it here as well. Lots of room to run and play...picnic tables...beautiful walking trails. Playground for the kids. And you even get to learn a little something with posts along the trails and by the waterfront! Absolutely love it!!!
My namesake Park - Sadly I only was to this park approximately 35 years ago, when I had a young family and we always camped. Followed a sign because that was my maiden name. Love reading all the good reviews. I now do not camp but love that I have a namesake Park. Yeah Bradbury.. Hope it is for years to come a great place. Would love for my grandchildren to see this park. Probably not as I live in N.J. and to far to travel. Thank you. Carol
Remembering last July 4 - We had a great time in Eastport last year, we stayed in Seaview Campground. The 4th of July celebration was great, I do wish you had not scheduled the storm the next day. We will be back I hope someday and it will be another July 4.
