Family favorite! - Many great family photos taken there most every summer. We seem to see something new each summer. Quiet, clean, historical and. Relaxing!

Secluded, Shady, Historical - My two kids and I camped here the weekend after July 4th, and it was lovely. The campground is very secluded, very shady and there is a healthy supply of free firewood. The ruins of Athens are fascinating and well-kept and the cannonball house is amazingly well-preserved. We also took a day trip to nearby Nauvoo, Illinois to see the Joseph Smith historical site. I plan to go back and highly recommend it.

Moments of Reflection - This is like going home for me. My father was in the CCC corps and worked on many bridges and roads in the area. Went into the Army during WWII for 4.5 years in the tank corp & returned to Jefferson Barracks where we lived until shut down. Many of days we would come out to Babler just to get out.

Truly wheelchair accessible - One of my children uses a wheelchair for mobility while another is an avid hiker. This park was perfect for my family as not only is the main trail wheelchair accessible, it provides enough interest for everyone so we could enjoy it together. Awesome park! Thank you MO

I LOVE ROARING RIVER! - I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR ALMOST 30 YRS. IT IS SO PEACEFUL, AND FISHING IS GREAT! HOPE TO CATCH THE BIG TROUT THIS YR. COMING BACK, THIS WEEKEND;
A cool place to visit even in the winter - I took a visit on February 28th. The sky was overcast and cloudy. I wish I had a telephoto lens on my camera to get a shot of the bald eagles.

Child Torture - I was locked up here as a child as well. It was cruel and torturous and I saw plenty of blood and injuries to the kids there.
Good O Course - Spent a day on the orienteering course here and had a great time. All points were marked and right where they should have been. Great place to Mountain bike as well.
Love the new equestrian trail -
