These wonderful pastel bands were formed as the sun rose into the clouds over Lake Superior.

Been comin here 30 years!! - My parents had taken me to Sterling state park since I was a young child. When I had my daughter in 2000 she was only 6 days old her 1st time coming here (I took her in the water with me and everything, n now she is a great swimmer, always joke that it was because of this) and now we are planning on having her 13th bday party out there!!! There are problems with biting flys but bug spray reapplied fairly often helps alot!! We love coming here. Came out for the fireworks a couple times also...one time there was a huge thunderstorm n we just covered with the blanket n waited it out n watched the fireworks from the water after the storm... good times!!
Beautiful park - We visit Indian Lake S.P. when we come to visit my family, and we love this park. We love all the nearby things to do (Palms Book S.P., Fayette Historic Site). The lake is beautiful, campsites are all good, and the staff has interesting things for the kids.
This is one of our families favorites. - We love coming here. The park is always clean and the staff is very professional. We always look forward to comimg back every year. The hikes to the lakes are beautiful. The museum is awesome and full of history.
A Family Tradition - My parents started camping here when I was 18 months old. I am now 50. Three generations have seen the changes at this park. The memories of floating Platt River, singing around the campfire, and going to Sleeping Bear Dunes are lifetime memories. Thanks
Definitely a Favorite - My boys and I are traveling around Michigan each year, staying at different State Campgrounds each trip. This is one of our favorites so far. We were fortunate to get one of the sites that is backed up against the dunes. Between the swimming and hiking, we never were without something to do. Even found a good Baptist Church (Roger City Baptist) nearby to visit on Sunday. There are rivers nearby and will be planning a return trip next year to add in some kayaking to our excitement.
We are about 10 miles west of Mackinaw City. One Mile Past the Wilderness State camp grounds. You will find miles of prestine beaches, no noise except the sounds of nature. You can hike the miles of wonderful hiking trails.
