Theres a big crack in the rock you can crawl through if you are slim enough and not frightened of confined areas.

BEST PLACE ON EARTH - My visit to the Sutton State Forest was the most magical experience of my life. It is truely a hidden gem in the world. I saw a plethera of magestic wildlife on my adventure in the Sutton State Forest. The town in which the forest resides is truely lovely and the people are just great! Teddy Roosevelt himself couldnt be more pleased with the care the great people of Sutton take in preserving the wilderness. My trip was truely amazing and i cant wait to go back on my anual trip. Live. Laugh. Love. and Camp.

- Good walking path. The paths are not clearly marked. Can be muddy and is very rocky. Mostly shaded area.

Great walking park - Nice 2 mile paved walking trail along side the lake and through pine woods, quiet and scenic

Memory for all who fell here - A lovely tranquil place to honor what happened here. Appreciated the British flags and quotation for those fallen of the other side. Wish other communities, Lexington, VA, could honor their past with flags of both sides.

Park is closed for 2011 - I stopped at this park and found it closed. The 2011 Tornado that struck this area shredded a large swath of forest just down the road from the entrance to this park. Hopefully it will reopen next year.

Wonderful serene place - First visit up to the Cape. Beautiful and serene. We participated in a number of Ranger led talks/activities and found them most informative. Keep up the good work protecting our natural resources. We need pros like you to keep our land/sea for future generations to enjoy. God Bless You.

Great For Families - This is a great place for families. It is quiet and clean with huge open spaces for the kids to play. The two ponds are nice.
Dirty - The area around the rock was dirty and the rock was covered in graffiti.

4/27/2011 Lowell-Dracut State Forest by Walker
Be Aware - I was walking through the state forest from Dracuts, Gumpus Road and notice several tents set up there, and people living there. I later found coming out from the forest on the Lowell end that the owners of homes along the forest are aware of the squatters and that they are homeless people. So be careful when passing through this area of the forest.

Flat and with plenty of options - Great space where your adventure can link up with other great spots. Coming from Groton on the rail trail, one can take a left at the Common Street crossing (just after the tree farm) and enter J. Harry Rich where the road ends. Then follow the trails and keep the river to your left and eventually you will meet back up to the NRRT. A nice and flat diversion! Also right next to Shepley Hill conservation area, which is very hilly - so I love to mix up the hills with the flatness of the Rich state forest. There are some very nice and secluded spots on the river that are great for picnics or not doing anything.
