very relaxing and peaceful - Swimming ,walking and enjoying the Sun.The water is clean and warm, a pleasure to swim in. My family and I always have fun there.

Under Construction - I was deeply disappointed to go today to the park and find that the visitors center was under construction. So I could only pull a map from a plastic box hanging on the side of an information sign. Looking at the photos here again online, it seems that I missed the entire tour.

Fun by the water - Good size lake. Love the boat rentals. Very good price for rentals. Good campsites.

Good Park But.... - Once the park is full you cannot get in. I am a local resident who invested in a park pass and was still not allowed in once the park was full. I really do feel that local residents within a 5 mile radius should have preferential treatment in order to enjoy the privileges of the park. Taxes here (Hunterdon County) are extremely high with few services provided by the state. The least they could do is allow local residents access to the park (especially if they have a park pass).

years of memories - My dad first came across this lake while fishing with my grandfather over 60 years ago, it was were we went every weekend,there was nothing there but the lake and the beach. then as time went on they added the wooden covering for changing and outside wooden toilets,as the years past things got more modern then when i married started going there when my daughter who is now 51 was only 4months old,it was a great family place to go,and something that we looked forward to everyweek..But then bus loads of people started coming in and it just go over powered. so we stopped going,but myself and my children have alot of good memories and if my parents were still alive they would be happy to know that lake absegami is still going strong and evern more improved then what it was when I started going over 60years ago...looking forward to making a trip there for picnic and letting my ground children no where they went as a child is up and running...

My favorite campground - We go back at least 4 times in the summer, very clean, family friendly campground and very close drive to the beach boardwalk and store. I will not go any other place it is my home away from home and I live 3 hrs away Highly recommended.
