The Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into state parks and recreation areas, state boat launches, state forest campgrounds and state trail parking lots. Swimming
1. Gogebic Lake State Park offers a designated swimming area on the lake's shore.
2. Lifeguards are not provided, so swim at your own risk.
3. Swimming is allowed during park hours from 8 AM to 10 PM daily.
4. The sandy beach provides easy access for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
5. Water shoes are recommended due to occasional rocky areas in the water near shoreline.
6. There aren't any indoor or heated pools; only natural freshwater swimming options exist here.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch available, allowing guests to bring their own watercrafts into the lake. The waters are suitable for both motorized and non-motorized boats including canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Fishing enthusiasts often use boats on this lake as it's known for its walleye population along with other species like smallmouth bass and northern pike.

Anglers can enjoy fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass, and northern pike. Ice fishing is popular in winter months.
