Definitely a Favorite - My boys and I are traveling around Michigan each year, staying at different State Campgrounds each trip. This is one of our favorites so far. We were fortunate to get one of the sites that is backed up against the dunes. Between the swimming and hiking, we never were without something to do. Even found a good Baptist Church (Roger City Baptist) nearby to visit on Sunday. There are rivers nearby and will be planning a return trip next year to add in some kayaking to our excitement.

Awesome, I will be back! - If Charles Mears State Park is anything like the rest of Pentwater, I am sorry I missed it.:( Aug. 25, 2012, was my first time in Pentwater, MI. I did not make it to the Mears Park and this is only one of the reasons I must come back. The people of Pentwater were very accommodating. It all started at the Beach Nut with Rachael, awesome family. Shout out to them! Awesome place for vacation. Awesome, awesome, awesome! :)

love the turkeys - i have been hunting there for deer for 35 years and turkey for the last 25. my wife and i love to explore forest. we are heading up 8-14-2012 for another outing, and to find a place to for me to bowhunt this fall.there are so many good spots. i love that place.

#2 On My List of Favorite State Parks - Every year we went to a State Park (Wilderness, Ludington, etc., but Muskegon State Park is wonderful for family camping. The icecream shop is within a bike ride and worth the visit!

Multi Species Beach Amazing - Had a blast swimming with my dogs, noticed some seagulls there too, and a few insects, and of course the fish that were in the water. There was some Yuppie there whining about dogs at the beach. Otherwise we all had a great day, lovely park!

HIdden Gem - This is our favorite Michigan State Park. The campground is wooded and mostly quiet. The beach is for campers only and is very uncrowded. Clean restrooms & showers too!

Very nice - Enjoyed seeing the lighthouse. The staff was very nice to let us camp in the parking lot since our RV would not fit in their sites

Nice Small Park - The park was great for our family. We camped with a pop up and the lots were good size. Beach was very clean and the water is crystal clear. Fishing was good.
