A great park - My husband & I stayed at the park the 20th of Aug. of this yr. The camp host was helpful & very friendly. The park was so clean, just a great place to stay. We will be going back. We live in southern Mo. but the drive is worth it.
WHAT A GREAT VACATION - If you ever thought about going to see the area quit thinking about it and go it was worth the 16 hr drive for me 0ne way....I promise you wont be disapointed.
Best Park - This park is great... I think it has 6 miles of trails and you can rent out equipment for free.. (besides the bikes) and if your looking for a great cabin id recommend cabin 3 or 4
And there lodge is super fancy it is way nicer than I could have expected
This has become my second home. - First saw the park as a small boy and have not missed a summer here for over 35 years. I recommend to everyone to see and stay in the park at least once.
THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE - OUR FIRST YR OF CAMPING, PARK WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE HOSTS TONI & JON MADE OUR ROOKIE YR ONE TO REMEMBER. TONI KEPT THOSE BATHROOMS SPOTLESS!!
A great experience!! - We were here around 4-5 summers ago. I can still remember how awsome it felt to see the wild buffalo, and other wildlife. I have always said I would LOVE to up and move to South Dakota and after being there that feeling is even stronger. I dream of the day when I will be able to make a return trip. Ohio seems like a world away from this majestic, beautiful place.
We visit again and again! - The Black Hills of South Dakota and Custer State Park is my favorite place in the country! We visit there every year (from Iowa) I love to visit all the familiar places and yet continue to find something new each time. We visited in January this year to have a new experience and will be returning in the fall. The beauty of the Park, the smell of the trees, impressive wildlife, makes me want to get in the car and go right now!
Breathtaking - Went there for a quick two day get-away. We were in the park less than an hour before we were planning a four day trip next year. Just beautiful.
peacefully awesome - June 2010 To be there from SC was a 5th grade dream all the way to 65 years old.
wish I had a photo of the picnic area at the guide/photo stop .
Will be camping here soon - We stopped by after spending the week at nearby Pickerel Lake. This site is one of those great get away from the office retreats with some history. Localer told me of great fishing for northern pike. Also canoe rental available. The camping cabins were only $40 which include a kitchen cabin the other three share. Equipped with stove, oven and washer & dryer. Clean showers for campers in the old restored horse barn. Approx. 45 minute drive from I29.
Cleanest and almost perfect state park! - Everything went well at this state park camp-out. Pickerel Lake is definately a secrete. Well worth the drive from Sioux Falls. The West unit is most senic, newer and spaceous. both swimming beaches were clean, full of sand and nice in August. The water quality was excellent. Camp sites are spaced just right and each site isnt too far from the toilets and showers. I recommend space 5E, 37E and 38E. Great for Tent camping.
THE BEST TRIP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - it is a really beautiful and remarkable landmark and i think everyone should see it ......... THE BEST TRIP EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great historical spot - My husband & I visited Labor Day Weekend and we were very impressed with the condition of the Fort and all the historical information that was available. It was a wonderful opportunity to see what a real working fort looked like.
Lots of Interesting Terrain - This is a large park. There was lots of wildlife, pretty scenery, and history. Too bad I was so rushed. I need to return when I have more time.
Desolate, Beautiful and Awesome land - We visited the Badlands in the middle of September 2009. The formation of the area was beautiful and so desolate, the wind sounded like a song I would never imagined all the awesome formations and the animals. We veiwed mountain goats, bobcats and wild horses in the pairies. Some places are not for people with fear of heights. Nothing like it on this earth.
WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM - We loved the park. We were amazed to see at close range, the hundreds of Buffalo. We also enjoyed the Burros and Prarie Dogs. Thanks to the informative park ranger who was giving a talk on how every thing on the Buffalo was used by the Indians. The roads were in good condition and we enjoyed the scenic views & trails as we traveled though the park over 4 days.
Wildlife Photography Bonanza - I have visited Lacreek many times...I live in Tampa, so I especially enjoy the huge flocks & variety of waterfowl in Fall plumage as well as the abundant numbers of pheasant and grouse. Plenty of deer too. Very friendly staff at the Refuge Office.
AMAZING, SPECTACULAR - I Stepped out of my car and was shocked at how beautiful the scenery was! Everyone in their lifetime should at least be able to go to Badlands National park!
The Piper of Union Grove - An beautiful and unexpected surprise in Southeastern South Dakota. Song inspired by my visit.
