This major recreation area in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region offers year-round activities. In the winter, alpine skiing is available at Mt. Sunapee Resort, owned by the state of New Hampshire and managed by the Okemo Mountain Resort.

Enjoy hiking, swimming, picnicking, boating, fishing and swimming in the summer/fall months. The campground offers lean-to and platform sites for family camping. Mt. Sunapee State Beach is situated about a mile from the campground and offers many amenities.

Mt. Sunapee State Park is open daily from mid-June to Labor Day. Admission is $3 for adults; $1 for children ages 6-11; children ages 5 and under and NH residents age 65 and over are admitted free.

Swimming
1. Mount Sunapee State Park offers a beautiful beach area on Lake Solitude for swimming.

4. Swimming hours usually align with the state park's operating times from 9 AM -7 PM daily.
5. There are no additional fees required beyond regular admission costs to swim at Lake Solitude Beach.
6- Visitors can also enjoy water sports like paddleboarding or kayaking alongside their swimming activities.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch area available, allowing guests to bring their own watercrafts such as kayaks or canoes. Additionally, paddle boats and rowboats are also available for rent on-site during the summer season. The large Lake Sunapee provides ample space for sailing and motor-boating activities too.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in Lake Sunapee, home to various species like smallmouth and largemouth bass, trout, perch and salmon. The park also offers ice-fishing during winter months. For fly fishers, Andrew Brook provides a serene setting with brook trout available.



Picnicking
Mount Sunapee State Park offers scenic picnic areas with tables and grills, ideal for family outings or romantic lunches.
Bicycling
Biking enthusiasts should be aware that the park offers limited options for cycling. The terrain is largely mountainous and rugged, which may pose challenges to less experienced cyclists.

There are no designated bike trails within this location's boundaries. Bicycling on hiking or skiing paths isn't recommended due to safety concerns.

However, adventurous bikers can explore some unpaved roads in certain areas of the park with caution. Be prepared for steep inclines and rough surfaces though!

Remember always wear a helmet while biking here as it's required by law in New Hampshire if you're under 16 years old.
