Ivy Mountain State Park, located in Goshen, Connecticut is a serene natural haven spanning 192 acres. It's known for its hiking trails that lead to the summit of Ivy Mountain offering stunning panoramic views. History of the Area
Located in Goshen, Connecticut, the park was established by the state government in 1927. It spans over 282 acres of land. The area is primarily forested and features Ivy Mountain at its center.

The mountain itself stands at an elevation of approximately 1,563 feet above sea level. This makes it a popular spot for hiking and nature walks among locals and tourists alike.

In addition to outdoor activities like fishing or picnicking available within this natural reserve's boundaries, there are also several historical sites nearby that visitors can explore.

Despite being relatively small compared to other parks statewide; it has remained a beloved destination due to its tranquility and scenic beauty throughout decades since establishment.

Passes

Trails
- Ivy Mountain Loop Trail: A moderately difficult trail spanning 2.5 miles, featuring a beautiful lake and offering opportunities for bird watching.

- East Ridge Trail: This is an easy to moderate level hiking path that stretches approximately 1 mile with scenic views of the surrounding forested area.

- West Ridge Pathway: An intermediate-level hike covering about 3 miles, this trail offers panoramic vistas from atop Ivy Mountain's western ridge line.

- Lake View Walkway: Easy half-mile walk around the park's central water body; ideal for families or those seeking a leisurely stroll amidst nature.

- Summit Track : Challenging uphill climb over rocky terrain leading up to the peak of Ivy mountain at just under one mile in length.

- North Slope Route : Approximately two-miles long trek through dense woodland areas on mostly flat ground making it suitable even for novice hikers.

- South Valley Passage : Moderate difficulty three-mile-long track running along southern valley floor showcasing diverse flora and fauna native to Connecticut region

- Boulder Field Bypass : Short but tricky pathway navigating through large boulder field stretching roughly quarter-of-a-mile; recommended only for experienced climbers due its technical demands

- Pine Grove Circuit - A tranquil loop measuring nearly one-and-half miles winding among towering pine trees providing cool shade during summer months

Directions
Directions from Hartford, Connecticut:

- Start on I-84 E.
- Take exit 59 for US-6/I384 towards Providence.
- Merge onto I384E/US44E and continue to follow US44E.

From New Haven, Connecticut:

- Begin by getting on CT15 N from State St and Humphrey St.
- Follow CT15 N to Wilbur Cross Pkwy in Meriden. Exit at 68N-W toward Route66W/Middletown/Washington Rd.

For those coming from Stamford, Connecticut:

- Get on the Interstate95 North (I95N).
- Continue along this route until you reach Bridgeport where you will take a slight right turn into Route8North(RT8N).

Coming From Danbury,Connecticut:

- Head eastbound via interstate highway i.e.,I84East(I84-E)
- Then use exit number10 which is Church Hill Road(CT39)to get off of it
