The surrounding bay area also provides opportunities for fishing from boats.
Fishing
Located on Long Island's North Fork, the park offers saltwater fishing. Species include striped bass and bluefish among others.

Fishing is available from both shorelines or by boat with a permit.

Bicycling
While biking is allowed, it's important to note that there are no designated bike trails. Be cautious of pedestrians.

The park features a 3-mile long paved road ideal for leisurely rides but be mindful of vehicle traffic.

Bicyclists should adhere strictly to the rules and regulations set by the authorities in order not to disrupt wildlife habitats.

Remember, helmets are mandatory for riders under 14 years old as per New York State law; safety first!

Rentals may not always be available so bringing your own bicycle could prove beneficial.

Ensure you stay within operating hours - dawn until dusk - when planning your bicycling adventure.
Birding
Located in eastern Long Island, the park is a popular spot for birdwatching. It's home to various species including ospreys and herons. The area also attracts migratory birds during different seasons of the year. Birders can explore diverse habitats such as marshes, forests and open water areas within its 363 acres.
