GOLIAD STATE PARK
GOLIAD STATE PARK
A wonderful opportunity to experience a blending of natural and cultural resources awaits visitors to Goliad State Park. Situated within three ecological zones and located on the San Antonio River, the park offers a variety of flora and fauna blending with tangible remains of Texas history and culture. The park serves as a hub for visiting the Mission Espiritu Santo State Historic Site (located in the park), the Presidio La Bahia, the Ignacio Zaragoza Birthplace State Historic Site, Fannin Battleground State Historic Site, the Goliad Historic District, and Mission Rosario State Historic Site. Surrounding ranches and oil fields remind visitors of the role the area played in the unfolding of Texas' history and economy. The park offers outstanding recreational activities and facilities.
Fishing
Anglers can enjoy fishing in the San Antonio River, home to species like catfish and bass. The park's Mission Espiritu Santo offers a serene backdrop for this activity. The park's terrain is mostly flat and paved, making it ideal for leisurely rides or family outings.

Mountain bikers should be aware that the trails may not provide enough challenge due to their easy nature.

Please note: biking on hiking-only paths isn't allowed; respect signage indicating such restrictions in place.

Riders must adhere strictly to opening hours - no night cycling permitted within this location's boundaries.

Remember always to yield right of way when encountering pedestrians along shared-use pathways during your ride.

Lastly, ensure you carry plenty of water as Texas heat can quickly lead to dehydration even during short bike trips.

park review stars; one to five The park is beautiful with the San Antonio river running along it. Interesting and historical. Great place to camp as a youth group, Boy Scout troop or a family. As a scoutmaster it is one of my favorite places to camp.
