Forest Capital Center State Park is a 13-acre park that showcases the importance of forestry. It features an interactive museum, picnic pavilions and nature trails. The park's highlight includes its Cracker Homestead - a replica of typical 19th-century rural home in North Florida, offering visitors insight into historical living conditions.
History of the Area
Located in Perry, Florida, the park was established on October 3rd, 1976. It covers an area of over thirteen acres and is dedicated to recognizing the significance of forestry in Florida's economic history.

The site features a museum that opened its doors in November 1982. The museum showcases exhibits related to five major periods spanning from prehistoric times through modern industrial development within the state's forest industry.

In addition to this historical focus, it also provides recreational opportunities such as picnicking areas and nature trails for visitors' enjoyment.

Passes
Annual Entrance Passes can be purchased at all park ranger stations and museums. If you require immediate use of your pass, this is the best option. Passes can be purchased during regular business hours 365 days a year. Please call the park in advance to ensure availability. Those who are eligible for discounted or free passes may use this method to receive their pass. Trails
- Forest Capital Loop Trail: This 1.3-mile trail is a loop that takes hikers through pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, offering views of local wildlife such as deer and various bird species.

- Nature Walkway: A short paved path suitable for all ages; it leads to an interpretive display about the park's ecosystem, making this walk both educational and enjoyable.

- Picnic Lake Trail: An easy half mile hike leading directly to Picnic Lake where visitors can enjoy fishing or simply relax by the water's edge after their trek.

- Pine Flatwood Trails System: Comprising several interconnected trails totaling approximately five miles in length; these paths meander through diverse habitats including wetlands, scrubby flatwoods, sandhills with longleaf pines scattered throughout.

- Interpretative Boardwalks & Overlooks Pathways : These are shorter routes designed specifically for nature observation purposes - they lead towards wooden platforms overlooking marshes teeming with birds during migration seasons.

-Cypress Dome Hiking Route : Approximately two miles long - winds its way around cypress domes showcasing Florida's unique swampy ecosystems while providing opportunities for spotting wading birds like herons or egrets among others.

-Bobcat Run Wilderness Track : Roughly three-miles-long track running parallel along Taylor Creek which offers chances of sighting bobcats especially at dawn/dusk times when these elusive creatures tend to be most active.
