Beaver Island State Park is located at the south end of Grand Island in the upper Niagara River. The 950 acre park has a half-mile sandy beach for swimming, adjacent 80 slip marina with both seasonal and transient boat slips, fishing access, bike and nature trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, athletic fields, horseshoe pits, an 18 hole disc golf course, an 18-hole golf course and a historic home which was the summer residence of President Cleveland. In winter, visitors can snowmobile by permit, cross-country ski, snowshoe, sled or ice fish. Hunting is allowed in season by permit.

Swimming

Fishing
You can enjoy freshwater fishing in the Niagara River and two lagoons. Species include bass, walleye, perch and northern pike. Ice fishing is also popular during winter months for those seeking a unique experience.



Picnicking
One popular spot is near the beach area, which provides stunning views of the Niagara River while you eat. There are also shaded spots under trees if you prefer to stay out of direct sunlight during hot summer days.

For larger gatherings or family reunions, Beaver Island State Park features two large shelters that can be rented out ahead of time. These pavilions come complete with electricity and water supply making it convenient for hosting bigger events.

Additionally, there's an option to have a barbecue as many picnic sites feature charcoal grills available on first-come-first-serve basis so don't forget to bring some coal along!

If hiking works up your appetite then pack yourself a lunch because this state park boasts numerous trails perfect for enjoying nature before settling down at one their scenic overlooks or benches scattered throughout these paths just waiting serve as impromptu dining locations!

Bicycling
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a 5-mile bike path that winds through the park's diverse landscapes. Helmets are recommended.

The trail is mostly flat, making it suitable for all skill levels but caution should be taken during wet conditions.

Bike rentals aren't available on-site so remember to bring your own equipment or rent from nearby facilities before visiting.

During peak season, cyclists may encounter pedestrians and wildlife; please exercise care when navigating these shared spaces.

Remember also to respect nature by staying within designated paths and not disturbing local flora/fauna while cycling.

Winter months could see icy patches forming on trails - extra vigilance is required in such situations.
Birding
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 200 species recorded. It's a popular spot for waterfowl, shorebirds and songbirds due to its varied habitats including wetlands, forests and open fields. Birders can explore the nature trails or visit during migration seasons for optimal viewing experiences.

park review stars; one to five Please note that Canadian land is not made of water. Not sure why you do not want to show Canada on your maps but it is very confusing to see all blue as if Erie and Ontario lakes where a big and only one lake and to have water where there is no water.
