BEAR BROOK STATE PARK
Bear Brook is a popular group destination with many ponds, streams and trails for exploration. Enjoy the museum complex, swimming, canoeing and fishing. The 97-site campground offers a camp store, canoe and rowboat rentals, showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, ice and firewood. Reservations for organized youth group camping may be made by calling 603/271-3628, Monday through Friday, from January through mid-October. The shelter, located in the day-use area of the park, may be reserved for group picnics and outings by calling the park directly, at 603\485-9874. A ballfield, barbeque pit, horseshoe area, nearby trails, wooded surrounds and isolation from other park visitors make it a great spot for family reunions, class picnics and office outings.

1. Bear Brook State Park offers two designated swimming areas: Catamount Pond and Beaver Pond.
2. Lifeguards are not always on duty, so swim at your own risk.
3. Swimming is only allowed in marked areas during park hours from dawn to dusk.
4. There's a sandy beach area by the pond for sunbathing or picnicking between swims.
5. Canoe rentals are available if you prefer boating over swimming in Catamount Pond.

7. No pets allowed within fenced-in beach areas but they're permitted elsewhere with leash-on rules applied.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of boating options. The park features several bodies of water, including Beaver Pond and Catamount Pond where non-motorized boats are allowed for fishing or leisure paddling. Canoe rentals are available at the park during summer months to explore these waters further.
Visitors can enjoy fishing in freshwater bodies, home to species like trout, bass and perch. Ice-fishing is popular during winter months. The park's two archery ponds are stocked with rainbow trout annually for a guaranteed catch experience. Catamount Pond offers boat rentals for those who prefer deep-water angling.

For beginners, Broken Boulder Path provides less strenuous cycling options amidst serene forest settings.
Always wear helmets as some areas have loose gravel which can cause slips or falls.
Bike rentals aren't available within the area so bring your own equipment if planning to cycle here.
Check trail conditions before setting out due to possible muddy spots after rainfalls that could make riding difficult.
Remember: it is important not only for safety but also preservation reasons - stick strictly to marked bike trails!
The park offers a variety of birding options with over 100 species to spot. Birdwatchers can explore diverse habitats including marshes, forests and ponds. The area is home to birds like warblers, woodpeckers and herons among others.
