Ouabache is difficult to spell, but easy to pronounce. Simply say 'Wabash'...just like the river that forms the southwest boundary for the park. This is the French spelling of an Indian word, so don't be surprised to hear some folks call it o-ba-chee.

Kunkel Lake offers excellent fishing. During the summer months, a naturalist will provide information about the natural wonders of the park. A rental pavilion is ideal for special gatherings and is now available all year.

February 19 A fun day by Dave and Peggy
2/18/12 we Did a late winter hike. Looks as if the park staff is working hard on fixing up some trails. Look forward to going back in spring and doing more Hiking and enjoying the peace and quiet.
August 18 Our Sentimental Favorite by Ryan Newman Fan
My parents took me here when I was a kid and now I take my family here. The campground is very clean. Most sites are nice and level. Great for big rigs. The pool is the best in Indiana as they added a large waterslide a couple years back. If I have to pick a negative the bathhouses could use a updating. The main, original campground section A, has by far the best sites. The newer section, B, is not paved, and sits on a hill. Great trails, great playgrounds. A great place to stay.
July 15 Pool, boating & buffalo by Long time fan
This is a wonderful park. I loved it as a kid. My kids now love to go also. The pool is great. They have a very fun waterslide. The paddleboats are so much fun. Our favorite is the buffalo. They are so much fun to watch. Plus, we are all challenged by the fire tower. It is hard to stay away from and always a challenge to make it to the top. How brave are you?
July 13 Love it!
We have been to a few State Parks and Ouabache is our favorite! A lot to do, very nice faculities, friendly people! Shower faculities are the nicest of the State Parks! We love the pool (its not heated), paved bike trails, and good fishing!
June 29 A Great Park

June 4 Well equipped and great employees! by Very pleased
Weather was terrible and they went around and kept every campsite informed and told us to take cover. Very nice place to take your children plus very quiet at nite too!
November 21 Great Park for family!!

November 14 Handy by kenkilsr
We have been camping here annually since 2005. We take grandchildren to experience the Fire Tower, buffalo, geese, boating, hiking, swimming, and nature in general.
August 14 Our favorite park! by Dawn S.
Our family has been going to Ouabache for many years now. We started out going Sundays after church, picnics, boating and swimming. We now camp there as well and it is a delight in every way. A wonderful place to create lasting family memories!!
June 7 Returning as an adult by Mom from Ohio
I had loads of fun here when I was a kid and now I am bringing my kids here. Very few places offer so much to do as a family. Thanks and keep it up!
May 1 Perfect family adventure! by 5 kids and a dad
Between renting the boat and fishing, playing at the play grounds to swimming at the pool, going up the fire tower and visiting the bison! This place is our favorite!
October 17 love this park by KFC
This a great park, camping was excellent. We love walking around the park, no big hills, plus we love seeing the bisons. Our granddaughter loves the playgrounds. Thanks Indiana for all the great times!!!!
July 18 we love it
We love staying at Ouabache, but we hold our loaf of bread tightly, by our side, even if we have to go to the restroom... There are those bandits out there... cute little critters, at night!!!
April 10 Great Park by Heather
This park is great, it has some great play areas for kids and the Buffalo are wonderful. Last time we were there they came right up to the fence which made my 4 year old very happy!
May 30 Fishings great if you like carp
Ouabache is one of my favorite parks for camping. If you can, go see your site before you make reservations. My last campimng site could only be described as tree covered swamp with plenty of gravel in the soil to make stake pounding really interesting. Thank God I only brought three tents.
May 29 great park, great fishing
