Fort Columbia Historical State Park is located near Astoria
1. Scarborough Hill Trail: This is a 2-mile round trip trail that offers stunning views of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean from atop Scarborough Hill.
2. Chinook Point Loop: A short, easy loop around historic Fort Columbia with interpretive signs about its history during World War II.
3. North Head Lighthouse Pathway: An accessible paved path leading to an iconic lighthouse on the edge of Cape Disappointment State Park adjacent to Fort Columbia Historical State Park.
4. Bell's View Trail: Named after James Bell who was stationed at Battery Murphy in WWII, this half mile long trail provides panoramic vistas over Baker Bay and Ilwaco Harbor.
5. Ridge Top Trail - West End Extension: It's a moderate hike through dense forested areas offering glimpses into local wildlife habitats along with scenic overlooks onto Astoria-Megler Bridge.
6. Battery Ord & Meriwether Lewis Trails: These trails take you past old military installations providing insights into historical events while also giving access to secluded picnic spots amidst lush greenery.
7. Scarborough Beach Access Route: Short but steep route descending towards sandy beach area where one can enjoy picnicking or bird watching activities by river side.
8. Fort To Sea Hiking/Bike Trial: Starting within park boundaries,this multi:use trial extends all way up till Sunset Beach allowing hikers/bikers opportunity for longer excursions across diverse landscapes including forests,wetlands as well coastal dunes.
9. Battery Guenther Interpretative Walk: Easy walk circling around restored gun battery site featuring informative panels explaining fort operations during war times.
