Consisting of nearly 5,300 acres of forest land this property is managed to demonstrate sound forest management principles through the concept of multiple-use. A hunter will find many species of game including deer, native wild turkey, ruffed grouse and a variety of small game. Camp Creek, from which these areas take their name, is one of the best stocked trout streams in the state and can offer hours of fishing enjoyment.

The park is situated just two miles off Interstate 77 at exit 20, Camp Creek State Park is an oasis for the vacationer. Whether you choose the park as a vacation site or a stop over on the way to another destination, rest assured you will find exactly what you are looking for. Surrounded by the breathtaking mountains of southern West Virginia, Camp Creek offers a chance to enjoy what state parks are all about.
Three separate campgrounds provide the variety campers enjoy.

Mash Fork Campground:

This campground contains 26 trailer/tent sites with electrical hookup, a heated bathhouse and two accessible sites. Camping units may be filled from water pumps before pulling onto sites. Picnic tables, grills and fire rings are at all campsites.

Blue Jay Campground:

This campground consists of 14 rustic tent sites. Amenities include pit toilets, water fountain, picnic tables, grills, and fire rings.

Firewood and ice are available for purchase. A coin laundry is available for your use.

A new gift shop is located in the park office and one is also located at the check-in building of Mash Fork campground.

Double C - Horse and Rider Campground:

A new camping option is available for horseback riders and their horse this year. ?Double C? Campground features access to approximately 35 miles of horseback trails. There are two, four, and six horse occupancy sites available in this area. Campers may only bring the number of horses in which their campsite stalls can accommodate.

This campground is by reservation only and offers vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables. Showers are available for use at the Mash Fork Camping area.

Many picnic areas are provided for guests. From groups of two to 200, facilities are available to accommodate any size of group. Picnic areas all contain tables, fireplaces or grills, restroom facilities and drinking water.

Five picnic shelters are available for advance rental. Rentals are based on a first-come, first-served basis and can be rented the first day of each month for the following year.

For reservations, please contact the park during offices hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day weekend only.


Playground equipment is located in each campground and near the picnic areas.

Games Courts:

A regulation basketball court, volleyball courts, and badminton courts are available. There are also shuffleboards and horseshoe areas throughout the park.
Horseback Riding:

35 - 40 miles of trails in the adjacent State Forest to ride. We have added horseback camp sites, visit the camping page for more details.

This is a beautiful place to camp...we camped in april 2012 by the creek..temps got below 20 but it was awesome...so peaceful and serene.....we hope to go again soon

We absolutely love this park! Beautiful scenery, excellent camping, fishing, hiking...the kids have the best time here...I compare all other campsites with the ones found at Camp Creek

Deluxe Log Cabins Rental, Tree Houses rental and Glamping Yurts cabins. All located a a remote scenic wooded area, near the New River national River and Gauley River National recreational area. Only 10 minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge Each cabin has a Hot tub and 3 cabins have a Red Heart Shaped Jacuzzi tub and gas fireplaces - Great for Romantic Get-a-Ways.

Camp Creek State Park is located in the southern part of West Virginia, between Beckley and Princeton. From the West Virginia turnpike, (I-77), take the Camp Creek exit 20, onto US 19 south and follow the signs less than one mile to the park access road. Remain on this road for approximately 1.5 miles until you enter Camp Creek State Park.
