June 22 The bear truth.
We arrived at our campsite and began to set things up. An hour later a black bear came out the woods by our campsite. It was a memorable trip.

March 10 WATCH OUT FOR THE BEAVERS by JOE HUDDLESTON MARCH 10, 2011
I VISITED THE PARK A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WITH MY WIFE AND MOTHER-IN-LAW. WE HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE TIME. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PARK. MY WIFE SAW HER FIRST VIEW OF WHERE BEAVERS HAD CUT DOWN SMALL TREES INTO THE STREAMS. I WILL BE BACK SOON TO DO SOME HIKING. EVERYTHING IS VERY NATURAL.

The most beautiful State Park I have ever stayed at! The campground facilities are wonderful! Clean bath houses and well maintained sites. Some of the most beautiful hiking trails around. I try to visit at least once a month!!

July 19 just amazing by Bill
A friend of ours told us about Stone Mountain. So we decided to check it out. I have to tell you, it is 1 of the best places to hike. The views are breathtaking. We camped also, stayed in site 25, we had dear come right up to the site. 1 doe came within 5 feet of our campsite and she had twins. Great place.
June 16 My favorite state park by Barbara Tuck
One of the reasons is I was born in Traphill, about 10 miles from here, so I get to visit relatives. The park is very spacious and the nature is just about perfect! Tame deer, beautiful scenery, cold rivers and in the fall you can go to Mt Airy in just a little while to get fresh apples and mountain cabbage--yum, yum! I would highly recommend this park. A great price for the great accommodations!
April 10 FUN
We had a great time.Great place to take the grandchildren. The only problem we had is people driving way to fast through the campground.
January 5 FREE FUN (on a day trip)
My family of six picked a foggy misty morning to go. We still had a blast walking to the summit. When the rain got heavy we took our picnic to the shelters. LOVED IT. If I would have known about the fireplaces we could have built a fire. Great little place to go.
November 25 Great place to camp!!! by Lee Downey
We stayed there 1st time last month. The place is fantastic. Beautiful. Best lots are 44-49. Huge lots. Nice paved, level with huge personal areas. Lots are 3x what normal crampgrounds offer. Stone Mt. main trails are less than a mile away. Very worth the money.
July 13 Wonderful experience!
This was a wonderful place to camp! My family and I enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful and keep the campground very clean.
June 16 The Best N.C. State Park by DWMC
Just experienced 4 wonderful days in camp site #52. The beauty and closeness to nature was most relaxing.
June 3 Love this park! by Michelle
I love this park! it is quiet, beautiful, and fun. Another reason that I love this park is because my family used to own 400 acres at the foot of the mountain, and the Hutchison Homestead. MY grandfather lived in a house that was across from the log cabin, but they tore that house down. His grandparents lived in the log cabin, and it was built by my great great great grandfather.
