Morrow Mountain State Park
Morrow Mountain State Park I See You © Lisa W Hedgecock
Another example of how tame and curious the local deer population is. I was able to take pictures from my car while the deer seemed to pose.
Morrow Mountain State Park Heres Looking at You © Lisa W Hedgecock
During my first trip to Morrow Mountain State Park, I was amazed at how calm and unfazed the deer were when they crossed the road and stood in the woods watching me as I watched them.

We have been visiting this park for almost 30 years. For the past 5 years we have taken our grandsons and booked cabin #2. The wildlife and hiking is wonderful. Look forward to this trip every year. WONDERFUL!!
July 24 Best all around park by Blueridgebiker
Morrow Mtn. has always been my favorite. My parents took me there as a child to go swimming in the pool, and it was cold. very refreshing. Now I ride my motocycle to the park every chance I get. Only a hour and 15 minutes from home. Nice ride through Badin Lake area. Morrow mtn views are spectacular and alot closer than my other favorite place Blue Ridge Parkway. Happy 75 th BPW.
April 4 who could ask for anything more? by a friend of the park
This wonderful park has all that any outdoor person could ask for. Great gentle or strenuous trails for hiking, beautiful scenery, wildflowers, laurels, river views, old homesteads, but most of all, a very wonderful, helpful staff.
March 6 My new favorite place!

December 6 Love to Hike by Mike Martin
Finding more and more places to see every weekend. Love hiking all the trails. The bridle trails could use a little tree clearing though. Now exploring the non-trail areas of the park and loving it.
September 24 I love this Park! I love the Deer! by Starla Daniel
I love Morrow Mountain State Park! Deer came right up to my car. The park was so clean and beautiful. I went to a birthday party on the edge of the mountain. Very nice! I could not take my eyes off the view from the top of the mountain. I ran into some people that drove their classic cars to the park. What great rides! I had the best time.

July 26 It is what it was created for by Bennie Lee
It is a quick get away. It is exactly what is was created to be and for. We need to know when enough is enough for something.
June 23 Wonderful Park by Iowa State Cyclone 81
This was our first time to Morrow Mountain. The bath houses are extremely clean and convenient. The park was great. Next time I will bring my canoe! Lots of wildlife to see - deer, racoons, etc. Sites were level and well spaced from one another. Rangers/hosts were really great as well.

The picnic area/campground is completely covered with white dogwood trees. Go when they are in bloom. Just about now. Gents bring your girlfriends. A pleasant and romantic place.

August 13 50 Years and counting by Loy
My first visit to Morrow Mtn State Park was when I was six. I have continued to enjoy its splendor since 1958. I have camped there in everthing from a lean-to to a motorhome. We have camped literally around the world, but Morrow Mtn remains on the top of our favorites list. You will not be disappointed. Any camping/nature area can have a bad day or season. Morrow Mountain has weathered many storms over the years but always bounces back to provide a wonderful experience. Save me a site !
August 1 Our Favorite Place to Camp by Amy
We love this place. We have been coming here for 25 years. It is very relaxing. You can sit at your campsite and watch the deer. Wake up to the crows. There are fun things to do. They have great hiking trails, swimming, canoeing and fishing. The staff is very friendly and ride by frequently to make sure everthing is okay. A fun place to be.

May 21 Our favorite by JTaylor
We have camped here many times. Great hiking trails, pool, great fishing. The Uwharrie River runs into the Pee Dee right across from the parks boat ramp. Nice place to canoe or kayak. The Badin dam is nearby too. We travel about 70 miles to get there, so I wish they reserved sites in advance. Nice hot showers and clean bathrooms......
May 1
sorry to say but this park needs a lot of work done to it. At one time this park was beautiful. I dont think they have kept it up as good as they could have. We have visited several state parks and know they could clean up better they have this one. It has a lot to ofter. Just Clean It Up
