If you drive north of Weiser on Highway 95, you might miss it. Most people do. Mann Creek State Park centers around a 283-acre reservoir that stays surprisingly quiet even during peak summer months. Bring a boat. Anglers come here specifically for the crappie, though you can also hook rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and channel catfish if you set up near the dam. The water gets warm by July. That makes it great for swimming or just bobbing around on an inflatable raft while the dry Idaho heat bakes the sagebrush hills.
Now, don't expect a fancy resort experience with paved walkways and luxury amenities. You get thirteen basic campsites, vault toilets, and incredible night skies. That's pretty much the setup. So if you hate packed campgrounds with loud music booming until midnight, this place feels like a quiet relief. You can roast hot dogs over a fire, watch hawks hunt in the dry brush, or just put your phone away for two days.
