The 595-acre Lyman Run State Park is in scenic Potter County. A mixed northern hardwood forest of mostly maples and cherries surrounds the 45-acre Lyman Run Lake, making a most scenic setting.
Swimming
1. Lyman Run State Park offers a sandy beach for swimming on the 45-acre Lyman Run Lake.
2. The lake is open from late-May to mid-September, providing summer swim options.
3. Lifeguards are not present at the park; visitors must swim at their own risk.
4. Swimming after sunset or in non-designated areas within the state park is strictly prohibited by law.
5. There's also an ADA accessible fishing pier near the swimming area for those interested in angling activities too.

Fishing
Enjoy fishing in two bodies of water, Lyman Run Lake and Black Hole Creek. Both are stocked with brook trout.

The 45-acre lake also has warm-water game fish like largemouth bass.

Ice fishing is popular when the lake freezes over during winter months.

Fishing gear can be borrowed from the park office for a day out on either body of water.

Picnicking
Lyman Run State Park offers picnic tables, charcoal grills and pavilions. Some areas have playgrounds nearby for children's entertainment.
Bicycling
For biking enthusiasts, the park offers a variety of trails. However, be aware that some are quite challenging.

The Spur Line Trail is an option for experienced cyclists due to its steep and rocky terrain.

Alternatively, consider Lower Lyman Run Road which provides less strenuous cycling with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery.

Remember always wear protective gear as safety should never be compromised while enjoying these outdoor activities in Pennsylvania's wilderness.

Also note: motorized bikes or ATVs aren't permitted on any trail within this natural reserve area.

In winter months, snow can make bike paths inaccessible so it's best to check conditions before setting out.
