This five-acre, spring-fed lake has a maximum depth of about ten feet. A variety of fish-sunfish, bass and bullhead provide fair catches during the summer. Frenchtown Pond is also a favorite place to practice boardsailing, kayaking, canoeing, and snorkeling. The park covers 41 acres at 3,169 feet elevation and is a day use only site. No pets are allowed at any time at this park. Facilities and services at the park include: both flush and vault toilets, group use area, group shelter, grills/firerings, picnic tables, trash cans, drinking water, RV dump station, food, interpretive and educational programs, and several ?Special Events' that are scheduled throughout the summer months. Three public golf courses are located nearby in Missoula, as well as, numerous museums. Day use fees per vehicle are charged from 5/1 - 9/30.
Swimming
1. Frenchtown Pond State Park in Montana offers a designated swimming area.
2. The pond's warm, shallow water is perfect for beginner swimmers and families with children.
3. Lifeguards are not on duty so visitors swim at their own risk.
4. Swimming aids like floaties or inflatable tubes can be used to enhance safety and enjoyment.
5. Snorkeling is allowed but scuba diving isn't permitted due to the pond's limited depth of 18 feet maximum.
6. The park provides amenities such as restrooms, picnic tables, grills near the beach for post-swim relaxation.
7. Pets aren't allowed within the designated swimming areas; they must stay leashed elsewhere in the park.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options suitable for all ages and skill levels. Non-motorized watercraft such as canoes, kayaks, paddleboards are allowed on the pond which is calm with no strong currents or large waves making it ideal even for beginners. The maximum depth of the pond is approximately 10 feet ensuring safe conditions. There's also an area designated specifically for radio-controlled model sailboats.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a serene environment, with options for both shore and boat angling. The pond is home to largemouth bass, yellow perch and pumpkinseed sunfish. It's an ideal spot for beginners due to the calm waters of this 18-acre spring-fed lake.
