These deer are friendly and kind, for deer... They are plentiful on the sides of roads and in backyards around dusk when they come out to feed. They have always looked pretty scraggly to me, like refugees.. I have come across a few carcasses in my time 4-wheeling and hiking in the back country along the river... these deer have a hard life. Then again, they have learned how to take advantage of the protection. Many residents feed them, including my grandfather, the neighbors, and myself. They expect it, but are far from domesticated.
