Chicopee State Park, formerly the Cooley Brook Reservoir and Watershed has been developed as a high use active recreation area. The total acreage is 575 acres including a 25 acre pond. Activities include swimming, fishing and picnicking.
Swimming
1. Chicopee Memorial State Park offers a designated swimming area in its freshwater lake.
2. Lifeguards are on duty during summer months for safety.
3. The park's beach is sandy and well-maintained, ideal for sunbathing or picnics between swims.
4. Swimming hours typically run from late morning to early evening but can vary seasonally.
5. Restrooms and changing facilities are available near the swim area for convenience of visitors.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. The main attraction is the Chicopee Reservoir, where individuals can enjoy canoeing and kayaking. However, motorized boats are not allowed on the reservoir to maintain its tranquility and natural beauty. Visitors must bring their own equipment as there are no rental facilities within the park.
Fishing

Picnicking
Chicopee Memorial State Park offers picnic areas with grills, tables and restrooms. Swimming beach access is also available for picnickers.

Directions
Chicopee State Park is located in south-central Massachusetts.

From East or West: Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. I-90) to exit 6. Bear right. The park is a quarter mile on the left.

From the North or South: exit Rt. 91 to Rt.291 East.Follow Rt. 291 East until it turns into Burnett Rd. Chicopee State Park is approx. 1 mile on the left after the entrance to the Mass. Turnpike.
