BEACH STATE PARK
BEACH STATE PARK
Beach State Park is a picturesque coastal haven, known for its expansive sandy beaches and vibrant wildlife. The park offers various recreational activities such as surfing, sunbathing, picnicking and bird watching. Its iconic pier provides stunning ocean views while the nearby forest trails invite exploration into nature's beauty. Visitors can also enjoy camping under starlit skies or exploring tide pools teeming with marine life at this diverse natural retreat.

History of the Area
This coastal park was established in 1933. It spans over 65 acres and features a sandy beach.

The land for the park was donated by Colonel Thomas R Bard, an influential figure of early Ventura County.

During World War II, it served as training grounds for U.S military forces preparing to deploy overseas.

In the late '60s and '70s, efforts were made to protect its natural habitats from commercial development threats.

Today it is popular among surfers due to consistent waves throughout the year while also attracting bird watchers.
