Ashland State Park has 470 acres including the 157 acre Ashland Reservoir. The park is operated seasonally and provides opportunities for swimming, picnicking, boating, fishing, bicycling and hiking. Beach improvements at the park include facilities for wheelchair access to the boathouse and by ramp into the pond.

Swimming
1. Ashland State Park offers a designated swimming area at its 157-acre lake.
2. Lifeguards are on duty from late June to early September.
3. Swimming is allowed during daylight hours only, for safety reasons.
4. No pets or alcohol are permitted in the beach areas of the park.
5. The sandy beaches provide ample space for sunbathing and picnicking near water's edge.
6. The clear waters make it an ideal spot for both adults and children to swim safely.
7. There aren't any rental facilities available so bring your own gear if you plan on snorkeling or diving.
Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options. Visitors can enjoy the 157-acre lake with their own non-motorized watercraft or rent one at the site, including kayaks and paddleboards. The boat ramp allows easy access to the water for all types of vessels. However, motorboats are not allowed in order to maintain peace and tranquility within this natural environment.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a 157-acre reservoir, home to species like largemouth bass, yellow perch and bluegill. Boating is permitted too.



Picnicking
Ashland State Park offers picnic areas with tables and grills. Visitors can enjoy their meal by the beautiful Ashland Reservoir.
Bicycling
Biking enthusiasts can enjoy the 5-mile trail network, but must be careful due to its multi-use nature. The terrain varies from flat paved roads to more challenging dirt paths with roots and rocks. Be aware that some trails may not permit biking at certain times of year or under specific conditions for conservation reasons. Always respect signage indicating restricted areas or activities while cycling in this natural reserve area located within Massachusetts.
Birding
Birdwatchers can enjoy spotting various species like herons, hawks and songbirds. The park's lake attracts waterfowl too.

Ashland State Park is located west of Boston in eastern Massachusetts.From North or South: Rte. 495 to "Main Street" Hopkinton exit, continue east on Main Street. Before Hopkinton Center Rt. 135 comes in on the left, follow Rt. 135 east approx. 3 miles to park Entrance is on the right.
