Swimming
1. Wayfarers State Park offers a designated swimming area in Flathead Lake.
2. The lake's clear water is perfect for cooling off during the summer months.
3. There are no lifeguards on duty, so swimmers should exercise caution and swim at their own risk.
4. Children must be supervised by an adult while swimming or playing near the water's edge.
5. Swimming after sunset isn't recommended due to lack of visibility and cooler temperatures.

Boating
The park, located on the northeastern shore of Flathead Lake in Montana, offers a variety of boating options. There is a boat ramp available for launching watercraft into the lake and motorized boats are allowed. Visitors can enjoy activities like sailing or fishing from their vessel while taking in views of surrounding mountains and wildlife. Kayaking and canoeing are also popular choices among visitors due to calm waters near shoreline areas.
Fishing
Located on the shores of Flathead Lake, visitors can enjoy fishing for trout, northern pike and yellow perch. The park's marina offers boat rentals to aid in deep water angling. Fishing licenses are required and available locally.

Picnicking
Wayfarers State Park offers picnic tables with grills, a beach area for picnicking and stunning views of Flathead Lake.
Bicycling
In the heart of Big Sky Country, a variety of biking trails await. Exercise caution when navigating these paths.

The park's terrain is diverse and can be challenging for inexperienced cyclists; safety should always come first.

Mountain bikers will find an array of steep inclines and rocky surfaces that require careful navigation to avoid accidents.

For those seeking less strenuous rides, there are also several paved routes suitable for leisurely cycling or family outings.

Always remember: helmets are not optional but essential gear on all bike excursions within this area's boundaries.

Before setting out, check local weather forecasts as sudden changes could make certain trails unsafe or impassable.

Lastly, respect wildlife by keeping your distance - you're in their home now!

Visitor Comments, Memories and Reviews
August 14 Great views and amenities by B. Timms
park review stars; one to five Killer sunset views from the rock slab cliffs and the shoreline. The town of Bigfork lights up the bays and the lake at night. Beautiful. The campground is busy during the height of the season, but quiets down very quickly when day users leave and children go to bed. Nighttime is quiet with campfires flickering through the foliage curtains. A walk along the shoreline at night is magical. Very dog friendly with leash ordinances in the campground but opportunities for off leash roaming if you want to hike in the undeveloped portion of the park.
