Fishing is allowed year-round with a valid New York State fishing license.

Ice fishing during winter months offers an exciting challenge for anglers seeking to catch various species of fish.

The Bash Bish Brook provides excellent opportunities for fly-fishing enthusiasts looking to hook some brook or brown trouts.

Rudd Pond has panfish such as bluegill sunfish along with largemouth bass that provide fun angling experiences throughout the summer season.

Picnicking
Taconic State Park offers scenic picnic areas with tables and grills. Some spots have pavilions, available for reservation.
Bicycling
Biking is permitted on designated trails, offering a scenic ride through the park's natural beauty. Be mindful of hikers.

Mountain biking requires caution due to steep and rocky terrains; helmets are strongly recommended for safety reasons.

The South Taconic Trail offers challenging routes with breathtaking views but can be difficult for inexperienced bikers.

Cyclists should always stay alert as wildlife encounters may occur unexpectedly while riding along these beautiful paths in nature.

Remember that some areas might not have cell service so plan your route carefully before setting off.

In winter months, cycling becomes more hazardous due to icy conditions or snow cover - consider other activities instead.

Always respect trail signs indicating restricted access or closures - they're there for everyone's safety and preservation of habitats.
