SUNLAND CENTER STATE PARK
SUNLAND CENTER STATE PARK
Sunland Center State Park is a serene, picturesque location that offers visitors an array of outdoor activities. The park features lush greenery and diverse wildlife, making it perfect for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, picnic areas, fishing spots and bird-watching opportunities within the park's boundaries. Its tranquil environment makes Sunland Center State Park an ideal spot for relaxation or adventure amid natural beauty.

History of the Area
Located in Marianna, Florida, the park was originally a hospital for tuberculosis patients established in 1952. It later became Sunland Training Center for individuals with developmental disabilities until its closure due to allegations of abuse and neglect. In 1983 it reopened as Dozier School for Boys which also faced similar accusations leading to its shutdown in 2011. The site is now managed by the Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Recreation and Parks since being designated a state park.

Passes
Annual Entrance Passes can be purchased at all park ranger stations and museums. If you require immediate use of your pass, this is the best option.
