Rough River Dam is surrounded by rolling countryside overlooking a 5,000 acre lake. Some of the finest fishing in the state is to be found in the deep waters of Rough River. Non-anglers can enjoy the lake on a pontoon, or scurry across quickly on water skis or jet skis.

The resort also features a 9-hole, par-3 golf course and the beautiful 18-hole Lafayette Golf Course is just a couple miles from the park. Enjoy the history and folklore of the area with a trip to the Pine Knob Theatre, offering outdoor dramas from June to September.

CottagesFor secluded comfort, relax in a cozy cottage. Seventeen two-bedroom cottages are located in wooded areas near the lake. Tableware, cooking utensils, and linens are provided with fresh linens available daily.

Lodge
LodgeBeautiful lake views enhance the appeal of Rough River Dam Lodge. Each of the 40 rooms features private patios or balconies and overlook the lake.

Camping
Enjoy the unspoiled beauty surrounding a 66-site campground, next to Rough River. Utility hookups, a dump station, and a central service building with showers and rest rooms are available.

Open April 1 - October 31. Check-out by 2:00 PM, Central time. No advance reservations. Pets are allowed if restrained.
Meeting Rooms
For contemporary meeting facilities enjoy the Falls of Rough Room in the lodge. This room can be utilized as a conference or banquet-style facility with seating for 400 guests.

The Grayson and Breckinridge rooms seat 125 guests each.

2nd Friday Bluegrass Jam
6:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M.

Bluegrass Jam every 2nd Friday of the month!

Come on down, tap your toes and jam with us. The local Breckinridge Bluegrass Music Association sponsors live music at the park on the second Friday of the month. Listen to the free sounds of Kentucky's heritage drifting all around the lodge starting at 6 p.m. Various local musicians are proudly featured each month. Call the park for more information!

A pool is available for lodge and cottage guests. Or enjoy the gentle waves of Rough River Lake on the public beach, serviced with a bathhouse.

Boating
Rough River Lake is the perfect location for the water sports enthusiast. The marina offers 121 open slips, 29 open houseboat slips, 48 covered slips, a launching ramp, and rental fishing boats and pontoon boats.

The avid angler will delight in the abundance of largemouth, white, and Kentucky bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish.

Trails
A one-mile nature trail follows the lake shoreline, and links the lodge, marina and cottage areas. The Army Corps of Engineers maintain a self-guided interpretive trail on federal land adjacent to the park.

Pine Knob Theatre - "Classic Shows Under the Stars"

It?s the sixteenth season for Pine Knob Theatre, 14 miles south of Rough River Dam Resort. The outdoor amphitheater was built in 1987 along with a 50s Diner in the historic Pine Knob Community. Four shows rotate - "Dock Brown," "Hoodoo," "LARD," and "T-BIRD." Performances are presented live on stage.

June through September, starting at 8 PM CT. All seats are $10. Reservations are not required except for large groups. Call 270-879-8190.

The buffet at the lodge was excellent. The campground sites were very close together.

This year Pine Knob and Rough River has joined and will be hosting 2 nifty fiftys weekends. rough River has also added a monthly newsletter that list upcoming events.

Directions
The resort is on KY 79. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit on KY 79 north from Caneyville or exit on KY 259 N at Leitchfield and travel to the park via KY 54 from Leitchfield. Driving south, take KY 79 south from Hardinsburg and US 60.
