Robbers Cave State Park is located in the scenic, hilly woodlands of the San Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma. A favorite of rappellers, cave explorers, equestrians, hikers and outdoor lovers, Robbers Cave enjoys notoriety as a former hideout for outlaws. The park and adjoining wildlife management area offers acres of discovery and enjoyment including caves, trout fishing in season, boating, hunting, trails for hikers and horses, sandstone cliffs for climbing and rappelling, and fall foliage viewing. RV and tent campsites, and equestrian campsites are also available. Lodging facilities include the Belle Starr View Lodge, cabins and two group camps. Picnic tables, comfort stations with showers, boat ramps, a swimming beach, swimming pool with bathhouse, playgrounds, miniature golf, hiking trails, paddleboat rentals, and a nature center with naturalist programs/exhibits round out the park's facilities.

March 25 Nature was great, staff not so much by Rambler
This park is beautiful for sure. Several nice trails to hike. The water is lovely. The cave itself is interesting and fun to explore. Was not impressed with any of the staff we met. Either hovering or dismisive.
November 14 by old-honeymooners
We went for our first anniversary/honeymoon this last weekend. Beautiful scenery every direction. Rented a cabin, it was great and adequately stocked. Friendly park staff. The stables however were a huge disapointment. We had reservations 3 weeks in advance and called twice including the morning of our scheduled ride to confirm. We had noon rides and turned out we wasted valuable time on Saturday awaiting to ride, only to be stiffed on it. No courtesy call to explain and the gates were locked. We left voice mail on both the pnone numbers given by the stables ads. Two other couples we spoke to had the same experience this weekend. The only thing they will tell you at the park office is that the stables are vendors and not park employees. Hmmm, perhaps they should say bye-bye to them and bring in a new vendor since they advertise so heavily on all the brochures that horse back riding is one of the main attractions/activities.

February 23 Great Times
I remeber as a little girl going to eat at the resturant there for the first time, I wanted pancakes and everyone kept trying to convince me not to get them. But I had made my mind up! A little later they bring it out, and much to my surprise it was huge and hanging off of the plate! But I was the happiest little girl in there! We have been taking our horses up there since I was old enough to hold myself up in a saddle and still to this day, after being married and having kids we still go as a family. It is an amazing place, and one that I will never get tired of!

Wonderful, pine forested mountains and rugged terrain. Excellent hiking trails. Beautiful little lake with an ideal waterfront. Nice nature center. This is one of the best state parks in the United States. And, to the poster below, it should be noted the cabins now have flat-screen TVs with satellite!

August 2 First Time Experience by Mel
This was our first time at Robbers Cave with our travel trailer. We had a really nice site, though it could have been mowed as some weeds were pretty high. My son got into some poison ivy at the site. The restrooms were not clean and were very hot and muggy.
July 13 Memories for a Lifetime by Dawn
Robbers Cave is our family reunion destination every summer. Over seventy people gather from our family to spend quality time together. For 22 years, Robbers Cave has proven to be an exceptional host, from swimming,paddle-boats, feeding the monster catfish, volleyball, horseshoes, and hiking the magnificent trails, we have a never ending supply of activities. Of course, it always helps when you love the folks you are with!!!
July 8 Cabin & Fun by Sharla
We just stayed in deck cabin #125 and it was very nice. Perfect for our family. Our problem came when it rained a bit everything shut down for the rest of the day. By 3 p.m. the rain had passed but everything was closed. The swimming pool, mini golf, shaved ice, & trail rides. All these employees just went home because of a rain shower. No lighting or thunder........VERY disappointed because of this. Should have kept these things open for the campers. We are looking for a different destination next time.
July 5 First time visitor...
We stayed at the lodge for a family reunion this weekend and had a blast...the lodge was great, but the housekeeping left a little bit to be desired...the toilet was filthy and there was dust on the stainless fixtures in the bathroom...the bed and pillows were horrible...we had to go into town and buy a foam pad and new pillows so we could sleep. At one point a sewer line had backed up or broken and raw sewage was seeping out of the ground and was running toward the lake down by the gift shop...we reported it and never did see anything get done about it...
June 21 campsites/restrooms are neglected by disappointed
Stayed at #29 site with two tents - campsite had poison oak throughout and weeds up to our ankles. Restrooms were filthy when we arrived Fri morning and still had not been cleaned when we left (earlier than planned) on Sat evening.

There are TVs there now. I was just there two weeks ago and the big flat screen on the wall with satellite TV was great!
September 20 cabins by Jean
The cabin was very nice but if you are taking children or spending a lot of time there keep in mind that there are no more televisions in the cabins. We were there for three days with rain and no tv. We read a lot. Next time we will take cards or board games to keep us busy.
