Red Rock Canyon was once a stop on the famous California Trail. Now visitors can enjoy this beautiful western Oklahoma oasis without bringing the Conestoga wagon. Red Rock Canyon State Park is a great place to hike, climb, or explore. Bring the family or bring the whole wagon train!

Located in west central Oklahoma, the park and campsites are located down in the canyon among the canyon walls. In addition to RV and tent camping, the park offers picnic areas, nature trails, a small fishing pond, and playground equipment. The canyon walls are a favorite for rappelling and open exploration. In season, the park operates a swimming pool with bathhouse (and adjacent food concession) and the group camp, which offers overnight sleeping in bunkhouses, and a kitchen/dining hall for meals or meetings. Group picnic shelters are also available. The park and surrounding area has good opportunities for fall foliage viewing.

April 30 Could be improved
The park is clean and in overall good condition, but I do not understand why they have let the red cedars get out of hand.
October 19 Wonderful Family Outing
We visited Red Rock Canyon and had a wonderful time. We took our camper and a tent and stayed in the Canyon Campground. Quiet camping area and beautiful weather made this a wonderful weekend! We enjoyed the park, watching the (brave) rapellers and various hiking trails. Our kids (ages 8, 7 and 3) absolutely loved it and we cannot wait to return!
July 11 Fun hiking trip for the kiddos by SarahJ
We took our kids to Red Rock for an early breakfast and exploring adventure. They played on the playground equipment which has a couple of artificial rocks to climb on. I will say that I wish there was a larger play structure as they were quickly bored. We did hike the first trail when you pull into the park. It was a blast! A very enjoyable hike for the kids to explore and adventure. Loved it!
May 28 a beautiful park
I have enjoyed this park for over 25 years but I will not return until they fire the new ranger. He is simply rude.
January 7 Great place to climb and hike by BBundy
Spent the day with my son hiking and climbing the entire top of the canyon both sides. Beautiful place, clean and a great family getaway. Fun for all.

June 26 On Our Way Home From Another Trip by Fathers Day
My husband wanted to show the kids something interesting and relaxing at the some time. We all enjoyed the view as we were going into the park and we also got off an did some walking. My son enjoyed climbing and the trails. My husband said that was his best fathers day he had. We plan to go back!
March 20 Very enjoyable by Aislinn
We went for an overnight getaway from the big city. It was super windy the first day, but the following day was gorgeous. We trekked to the top of the canyon and followed the well-marked trails and enjoyed the serenity. Some dark clouds were rolling in and rain threathened, so we came on home. We stayed in a 31 ft Class C in the first campsite area...easy to back in. The steep ascent/descent was not bad.We are planning on going back often... Bing maps gave wrong directions and led us on a wild goose chase...
