| State Park Overview: |
 | Otsego Lake State Park is a charming and popular family park easily accessible to I-75 and Gaylord, "The Alpine Village." The park is shaded with large oak, maple and pine. It encompasses 62 acres and provides more than a half mile of sandy beach and large sites near or within sight of the lake. O |

Live close by and use this park often
We have traveled from one state park in Mi. to another for almost 25 yrs. Otsego State Park is excellent. With the additions of the boardwalks close to the beach from the camping sites, is definitely a plus. It is close to Gaylord, Mi. (less than 10 minutes) to shop at WalMart, other grocery stores, movies, eating out. The lake that the park sits by is filled with great fishing, and swimming is also popular from the nice beach area/store. There are not many drivetru sites, but the sites are not small, and many are facing the water from the bluff. I highly recommend this park!!

Family Favorite
My in-laws and family have been going to Otsego since my mother-in-law was a little girl. Now, my husband and I have been gooing since we started dating, married and had a family, over 30 years. We love it there. Now our kids are going. They come up when were camping. We love everyting about the campground. The Rangers are friendly, the bathrooms are kept clean, the park is just awesome.

| Trails: |
| Except for the foot trail to the picnic shelter in the day-use area, there are no established trails in the park. Some paths throughout the wooded areas, however, yield fruitful blueberry bushes and an opportunity to find the rare and protected wild orchid, more commonly called the lady's slipper. Remember to take only photographs of this rare and delicate protected flower.

Otsego Lake-Foot Trail - 0 (Miles), Hiking, Cross Country Ski |
| Boating: |
| In the day use area, there is a concrete pad two-lane boat launch and parking for boat trailers. |
| Fishing and Hunting: |
| For those without a boat, the park has an accessible fishing pier. Fishing is generally good year-round. Species include bluegill, perch, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike and sturgeon. |
| History of the Area: |
| Otsego Lake was established as a state park in 1920.
The property was purchased very reasonably from a lumber company who had lumbered it off. In 1935, the Civilian Conservation Crop (CCC) built buildings and made other improvements to the grounds. The remaining CCC buildings are the pavilion in the center of the North Campground and a portion of the South campground toilet building. Two-thirds of the 155 campsites are in the North Campground which is known as the "highbanks." The terrain gently rises and the sites overlook the lake. The other one-third are in the South campground and are lower and closer to the lake. The majority of the sites are large, flat and shady. |
