A true oasis, Oasis State Park is set among cottonwood trees, shifting sand dunes, and a small fishing lake.
Nature of the Area
More than 80 bird species make their home at the park during the year. It's especially ideal in winter. Look for great blue heron, ring-neck pheasant, quail, and western sandpiper.

7th Annual Spring Trout Derby
Enter the 7th Annual Spring Trout Derby held at Oasis State Park and made possible with the support of the Friends of Oasis State Park. This event will be held March 26-27, 2016. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. each day at the park office and will remain open during the derby times of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days. Fees for the day will be the $5 per vehicle park entrance fee for non-annual permit holders and $5 per person derby entrance fee for both days. Tagged trout in the pond will bring you money if you catch them. To redeem tagged trout prizes, the trout MUST still have the tag intact when it is taken in to collect. There will be 4 categories/colors of tags ranging in prize money from $10 to $100. All anglers 12 years of age and older MUST have a valid NM fishing license.

May 27 Swimming Beach by J. Whary, Park Manager
Oasis State Park does not have a swimming beach as no swimming or wading is allowed. Pond is for fishing only. Also, there is no primative camping, however, there are 10 developed tent sites and 13 developed sites with electricity.
November 21 Very well laid out and very clean
The way you all did the fishing pond was extremly wonderful. Keep up the good work
