A true oasis, Oasis State Park is set among cottonwood trees, shifting sand dunes, and a small fishing lake.
Nature of the Area
More than 80 bird species make their home at the park during the year. It's especially ideal in winter. Look for great blue heron, ring-neck pheasant, quail, and western sandpiper.

Summer Safety Tips
Join park staff of Oasis State Park in learning tips to keep you safe this summer. Learn the do's and don't's of encounter with rattlesnakes and how to protect yourself and others. Also, learn tips to beat the heat. This event will be held on May 23, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the park Group Shelter area. Regular entrance fees apply for non-annual permit holders.

Animal Tracks
Join park staff and learn what animal tracks look like in the sand. Use rubber molds of animal tracks to identify different types of animals!

10th Annual Old Tyme Music Concert
Oasis State Park with the support of the Friends of Oasis will host the 10th Annual Old Tyme Music Concert on Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert will host the Triple L Band of Portales. The event is free but park entrance fees do apply and camping is available. **No alcohol will be allowed at this event.**

Blackwater Draw Site Overview
Join Blackwater Draw Site staff for a presentation at 7 p.m. on June 13, 2015 at the park Group Shelter area. The presentation will give a general overview of the archeology and the artifacts left by the inhabitants of the Southwest. In addition, this talk will present the history of discoveries at the Blackwater Draw Site. The site is where the ancient Clovis people lived here on the high plains during the end of the last ice age. Regular entrance fees apply for non-annual permit holders.

July 4
Wildlife Trunk
Take a look at animal fur pelts, skulls, tracks and scat of area wildlife. This event will take place at the park Group Shelter. The $5 park entrance fee does apply for non-annual permit holders.

Star Party
Join park staff and the Clovis Astronomy Club for a night of star gazing on July 11, 2015. This will take place in the visitor center parking lot at dusk. Regular entrance fees apply for non-annual permit holders. All ages are invited to attend. No pets will be allowed at this event. Bring your binoculars, telescopes, red lense flashlights, etc. if you have them and enjoy a night of learning under the stars. **The park may provide binoculars to borrow for the event.** Park entrance fees do apply for non-annual permit holders.

May 27 Swimming Beach by J. Whary, Park Manager
Oasis State Park does not have a swimming beach as no swimming or wading is allowed. Pond is for fishing only. Also, there is no primative camping, however, there are 10 developed tent sites and 13 developed sites with electricity.
November 21 Very well laid out and very clean
The way you all did the fishing pond was extremly wonderful. Keep up the good work
