A true oasis, Oasis State Park is set among cottonwood trees, shifting sand dunes, and a small fishing lake.
Nature of the Area
More than 80 bird species make their home at the park during the year. It's especially ideal in winter. Look for great blue heron, ring-neck pheasant, quail, and western sandpiper.

November 7
Annual Kids Fishin' Clinic
Oasis State Park with support from the Friends of Oasis will hold their 25th Annual Kids Fishin' Clinic on November 7, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids 6-17 years of age and their parent/adult are invited to attend. Each participant MUST pre-register with Oasis by calling 575-356-5331. Information needed will be the child's name, age, adult's name and telephone number. Register early as there are a limited number of slots available. The event is free with the appropriate entrance or camping fees. Starting at 9 a.m. the clinic will run through approximately 10 stations of learning and at noon lunch will be served by the Community Services Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Portales. Following lunch, every registered child will be eligible for a door prize!! Please dress appropriately for the weather that day. Please be reminded that those 12 years of age and older must have a valid NM fishing license.

May 27 Swimming Beach by J. Whary, Park Manager
Oasis State Park does not have a swimming beach as no swimming or wading is allowed. Pond is for fishing only. Also, there is no primative camping, however, there are 10 developed tent sites and 13 developed sites with electricity.
November 21 Very well laid out and very clean
The way you all did the fishing pond was extremly wonderful. Keep up the good work
