Picnicking
Four separate access roads provide easy entry to the day-use areas. Picnic tables are provided in shady groves, along the shoreline and at areas that provide scenic views of the lake. Charcoal grills are conveniently located throughout the park. Two picnic pavilions are available for reservation or on a first-come, first-served basis. They are conveniently located with easy access to the lake, restrooms and water fountains. Each pavilion accommodates 70 people. Call toll-free 888-PA-PARKS for reservations.
Bicycling
Biking is allowed on public roads and designated trails. Be cautious, as some areas are shared with motor vehicles.

The 1-mile Lakeside Trail offers a scenic ride but can be crowded during peak times; exercise caution.

Mountain biking enthusiasts will enjoy the challenging terrain of nearby Appalachian Trail - always wear protective gear for safety.

Remember to respect nature by staying on marked paths to avoid damaging flora or disturbing wildlife habitats in the area.

Always check weather conditions before setting out, especially if planning longer rides around surrounding forested regions.

Ensure your bike is well-maintained and equipped with necessary accessories like lights and bells for safe riding experience.

Children under 12 years must wear helmets while cycling according to Pennsylvania law - ensure compliance for their safety.

Night-time bicycling isn't recommended due its limited visibility which could lead accidents or getting lost easily.

Birding
The park offers birdwatchers a variety of species, including waterfowl and migratory birds. Birding trails are available for exploration. The lake attracts numerous types of ducks during migration season. Raptors such as hawks can also be spotted in the area.
