Swimming
1. Melvern State Park offers a designated swimming beach for visitors.
2. The park's large reservoir is perfect for open water swimming and cooling off in summer months.
3. Lifeguards are not provided, so swimmers should exercise caution when entering the water.
4. Swimming outside of the marked areas or after dark is strictly prohibited by park rules.
5. Visitors can also engage in other aquatic activities such as boating and fishing near swim zones.

Boating
The park offers a wide range of boating options for visitors. There are two marinas and five boat ramps available, providing easy access to the water. The 7,000-acre lake is perfect for various types of boats including sailboats, motorboats or fishing vessels. Boat rentals are also offered within the park if you don't have your own vessel.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a 7,000-acre reservoir filled with various species such as crappie, walleye, white bass and channel catfish. The park also offers shoreline or boat angling options for enthusiasts. For trout lovers, there's an annual winter stocking at the outlet area.



Picnicking
Melvern State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables, grills and shelters. Some sites overlook the lake for scenic picnicking.
Birding
The park offers diverse bird species, including waterfowl and songbirds. Birdwatchers can explore five designated trails.
