Peaceful and Quiet - Very old trees reaching upward stand among old forge-mill ruins.

our favorite campgrount only 1 1/2 hr dr - We have been going for 4 yrs now. GREAT place. Would be nice to have water and 50 amp. But that would get more people who just want to have fun not enjoy the trails and fishing, crabbing, birds red foxes and other wild life. The staff is good they replace any first timmers who need to leave. The hosts try very hard to help with what ever is needed. will I go again you bet already sign up for two more 9 day trips this yr. and signed up for 3 more 9 day trips in 2013 with 3 more trips planed but could not reseve yet. as for dogs area they have enough. You do not what a park just for dogs. Also not every dog plays well with others. Come enjoy a day or two weeks. Better y-fi would be a help.

Wonderful Experience - Just returned from our camping trip to Assateague, had such a wonderful time. The horses and the beaches are beautiful, such an amazing experience to see wild ponies roaming through your campsite in the mornings. The beach is clean and secluded, amazing, one of my new favorite places! Already planning our return for next year.

uninhabited Island Camping - My Girl friend and I went to Janes Island to canoe and camp. The views and wildlife were great. The bugs were overwhelming, little nats by the thousands would swarm all over you when the wind was now blowing. They have their own May Flys there that are also terrible not to mentions the ticks were really bad too. I picked a half dozen or more off my girlfriend and myself. The crabbing was great, they were all to small to keep but just wait until the middle of June. You can use hand lines right off of the wharf or piers. I tried every bait under the sun to catch a fish and failed. But if you want to catch crabs with your fishing pole just use GULP minnows that you can find at Walmart. Just about every cast a crab was on my line. If the crab were bigger I would have put a few in a crab trap instead of chicken.

great family vacation site - A perfect day at Herrington Manor is spending the day swimming and boating on the lake, broken up by a walk with a naturalist, and a lakeside family cookout at sunset with the requisite dessert of some mores.

Best Boat Ramps DNR on Site - I use the boat ramp at Sandy Point Weekly. It is clean, nice and roomy. Nice little store and DNR is located right there so they keep things safe and under control. The Coast Guard and DNR are on the water and I feel a lot safer knowing these guys are there. At first I was a bit intimidated but these are nice folks and are there to Help. If you want to get under the bridge and fish tih pielings This is where you want to launch your boat
Fabulous place to ride your horses and c - Fair Hill NRMA is a wonderful experience. If you are near or far you should try to get there to ride. All the trails are great and well marked with difficulty noted on the park map. Meadows, woods, streams and Elk creak to see and play in. Everyone we have met on the trails has bee courteous and nice. The restrooms and showers and are always well maintained. The horses get great accommodations with safe matted stalls, good lighting and lots of water hookups. You all have to come try Fair Hill.

Awesome place to camp and fish - My husband and I have come to Point Look Out many times. Each time we have a wonderful camping site, the park is extremely clean, friendly people all through the park and is this by far the best maintained park we have visited and the fishing is great.
Wonderful Place for a Wedding - Matapeake is one of those hidden landmarks. We came upon Matapeake when my daughter was getting married. We quickly booked the location and her wedding was one of the most beautiful spots. Our guests could not stop talking about how lovely the view was. The staff was also very helpful and efficent. Thank you!
