July 11 No Handicap Parking at Ashland Boat Ramp by kate
My husband is disabled and in the summer season is unable to access the Ashland State Park area by the boat ramp because there are no handicap assigned parking areas-he has made several inquiries but received no answers-yet a local camp is allowed to park boat trailers where handicap parking should be-he is in a wheelchair and likes to fish but cannot park close enough-frustrating that his inquiry is not taken seriously as I am sure there are others in the same position
July 17 nice park, bad crowd... by Disappointed Mass resident
the park offers swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking. Should be the ideal family spot on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, we saw public drinking, lewd behavior and even inappopriate treatment of a dog taking place. There seem to be very little oversight by park officials, and I even had to call 911 to get help for an injured bicyclist that appeared intoxicated. My husband and I (attending with 7 kids ages 9-14)left the park disappointed at best, but actually quite upset. This is a beautiful venue in need of crowd control and enforcement of park policies and rules. We will not re-visit any time soon
