The beautiful hardwood forests of Holmes County State Park are home to an abundance of wildlife, and provide the scenic backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Built around two lakes covering 88 acres, the park offers such diverse excitement as fishing, roller skating, camping and cabin rentals. Holmes County State Park offers easy access to Interstate 55, which bisects Mississippi north and south. The convenient location and diverse outdoor recreational amenities make Holmes County State Park a favorite retreat.
We stayed in #2 over Thanksgiving and enjoyed it. Although there were some items in the cabin that could use replacing, it was very clean.
Pros- view of the lake was great, it was peaceful and quiet.
Cons - There were 4 in our group and the website said there were two beds. Turned out there was only one. Did not contact office on Thursday assuming it would be closed and Friday we spent the day in Jackson and never went to the office.
Overall our family enjoyed it and will be back again someday.

stayed at Holmes county state park, very dissapointed for the price, $80.00 for one night, 1 pan in the kitchen a skillet, wore out no pans of any kind, no dish washing liquid, and no television, a $40.00 cabin for $80.00, also building very run down, a lot of neglect you would think the state would do something about this...

This is a great place to hang out and enjoy the peace and quite of the wilderness with your love ones and friends.
