FORT CREVE COEUR STATE PARK
FORT CREVE COEUR STATE PARK
Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat ramp available, providing access to the Illinois River for fishing and recreational boating activities. Canoeing opportunities are also abundant within the area's many lakes and waterways. However, it should be noted that only electric motors are allowed on boats in order to preserve the tranquility of this natural setting.
Fishing
The park offers fishing opportunities in its large lake. Anglers can catch species like largemouth bass, bluegill and catfish. There's also a boat launch for easy water access. Fishing is permitted year-round, but regulations apply to maintain the fish population health.

Picnicking
Fort Creve Coeur State Park offers picnic areas with tables and grills, perfect for family outings or solo adventures.
Bicycling
Biking enthusiasts can explore a 7-mile trail, though it's moderately challenging due to steep hills and rough terrain.

The path is shared with hikers so caution should be exercised.

Mountain bikers might find the rugged landscape appealing but safety gear is recommended.

For those seeking less strenuous options, there are paved trails available too.

Remember that weather conditions may affect trail accessibility; check ahead for closures or warnings.

Please note: biking after dark isn't permitted in order to prevent accidents on these tricky paths.

Ensure you have ample water supplies as facilities within this area could be limited during certain seasons.

Always respect wildlife encountered along your ride - keep distance and do not disturb them.

Lastly, always wear helmets while riding bikes here for personal safety against potential falls or collisions.
Birding
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 200 species recorded. It's a hotspot for waterfowl and songbirds. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats including forests, wetlands, and riverbanks. The site is also part of the Illinois River Valley Birding Trail.
