Very good with one exception - We stayed overnight on the 18th and the 23rd of this month. We thought the park was exceptional with one exception. The tree needs to be trimed on the exit from the park. I asked the ranger about this hazard when we stayed again at the park on the 23rd. She said they had had other comments about the tree. It is a real hazard to RV roofs and needs attention!!!

9/29/2011 Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge

Wonderful find - this refuge is not publicized very widely but was a wonderful surprise as we were traveling to view birds and great fall colors. The trip is well worthwhile. There area blinds to photograph from. The pamphlets at the entrance give great information on birds and wildlife.

This is a park for all seasons. - Credit cards are acceptable for vehicle daily passes and annual passes. Great mt biking, hiking, horseback riding.

Tenting in The Crags - Beautiful!! Secluded, quiet campsites are great for tenters. The drive is not recommended for any trailers, and there are no services other than vault toilets. But the views are spectacular and the wildlife is abundant. This is my favorite place in the entire state.

A great place to camp. - Billy Creek has great dry camping spots overlooking the meadows. Lots of wildlife and it's a very quite place to take the family. Easy access to Montrose and Ridgway State Park.

Our Favorite Place next door - We have been camping at Golden Gate for 11 years now and totally love it. We can be set up and ready to go in less than an hour from home. Great hiking trails for the dogs and my daughter. Park rangers are great and we have never had any trouble here. Its our home away from home camping spot.

Beautiful Park - There are different trails at the park at all difficulty levels as well as areas for rock climbing. The trails are well groomed and offer stunning scenery. Weekdays are best to visit as you have the place virtually to yourself. Will definitely return.
