Set among rolling grasslands, Clayton Lake State Park offers excellent trout, catfish and bass fishing. Walk a half-mile to the lake's spillway and see the internationally significant dinosaur trackway, containing more than 500 footprints dating back more than 100 million years.

Boating
Visitors can enjoy a variety of boating activities, including motorized and non-motorized options. The lake is stocked with fish such as trout, catfish, bass making it perfect for fishing boats. However, to protect the wildlife and ensure tranquility in certain areas only electric motors are allowed on some parts of the lake. There's also an accessible boat ramp available for launching watercrafts conveniently into the water.

The Star Point trail is an easy ride with beautiful views but requires caution due to loose gravel.

The park offers birdwatching opportunities with over 100 species, including migratory birds. Bird checklists are available for enthusiasts.

park review stars; one to five we took our granddaughter here in May 2010, to see the dinosaur tracks, it was awesome and very clean accomodations, very helpful park rangers, had a great time and I would recomment it for a family vacation place.
