Cayuga Lake State Park's terrain is flat at lakeshore, where the beach and sun lawns are, then slopes gently uphill to campsites and cabins. The scenic highlight of the park is its expansive view of Cayuga Lake. In the shallow water near the park, largemouth bass, bullheads and carp thrive. In deeper water, anglers can catch northern pike, small mouth bass, lake trout, landlocked salmon and many other varieties of fish. The park has a boat launch, playground, playing field.

The vacation rental at Cayuga Lake State Park is located off Lower Lake Road on Cayuga Lake and is shaded by mature trees. The park provides lake rights, across Lower Lake Road, on the lake. Spacious grounds with picnic tables and a campfire ring adorn the property and a lakefront dock is available for tenants. The vacation rental has a fully enclosed porch with a view of Cayuga Lake. Indoor amenities include a dining room and counter space that can seat eight for meals, full kitchen with a stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, flatware, plates, glasses, pots, pans, cooking utensils, one and a half baths, heat, hot water/shower, three bedrooms (two with double beds and one with two single beds), wood stove and a sleeper sofa (sleeps two) in the living room. 5. There's also an option to rent paddle boats or rowboats within the park boundaries for water exploration activities.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options. There is a boat launch available for both power boats and rowboats, with rentals also accessible on-site. The lake's calm waters are perfect for canoeing or kayaking as well, making it an ideal spot for all types of water enthusiasts.
Fishing
Anglers can enjoy shore or boat fishing, targeting species like largemouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Other available fish include smallmouth bass and lake trout. Ice fishing is also an option during winter months for hardy enthusiasts.

The park's campground offers paved routes ideal for leisurely rides but watch out for pedestrians and vehicles.

Off-road enthusiasts might be disappointed as the terrain isn't designed specifically with mountain biking in mind; proceed carefully on unpaved paths.

Cyclists should remain vigilant due to limited bike lanes or designated cycle tracks within this area.

Remember that helmets are required by law in New York State if you're under 14 years old while riding your bicycle.

Birding
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 200 species, including waterfowl and songbirds. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats such as wetlands, forests, and grassy areas. The lake attracts migrating birds in spring and fall seasons while winter brings owls to the area.
