August 30 Surprised by Lizz Bartlett
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the new road has not increased the trash, user impact at MacLeod Pond. I thought that it would. I made 2 visits this weekend that were beautiful and peaceful.
August 7 beautiful spot
The lake at the top is a wonderful way to spend a day. My boyfriend grew up in the area and I have been coming up here for several years a great place to kayak....However signs are needed to discourage people from leaving trash, throwing turtles on their fires, leaving fishing line all over and bark peeeling also cutting down trees to make fires (hello greenwood doesnt burn well). It amazes me that people bring in a bag with food, fishing stuff and drinks and then turn around and leave it behind where do they think it goes, we visit the area about twice a week and pick up trash everytime. So enjoy it and pick up your trash!
June 15 best place on earth
I grew up at the base of the hill and love to go fishing and hiking but I also think it sould be open to atv use with the agreement that thay must use only the trails that are there ,and if caught off of the trail get a big fine.
June 22 New Road
Although the new road (stacy rd) is nice, I am afraid it will yield more 4x4 and partying, which means more erosion and trash. I greatly enjoy the beauty and accessibility to Catamount. I feel more signage (rules against 4x4 & garbage) and trail work will further benefit the area.
